Kolkata: The best in business will don the jerseys of Kolkata team in the inaugural edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), said skipper Ganguly on Tuesday.
Other than Adam Gilchrist, who has always been there on his priority list, the Kolkata team skipper said, ''Obviously when one makes the team he wants to pick the best side. I am no exception.''
''There are players like Gilly (Gilchrist), Jaques Kallis, Mathew Hayden, Shaun Pollock, Brett Lee, Shahid Afridi and Mohd Yousuf who you will always want in your side,'' Ganguly told a private TV channel last night.
Yesterday, Shahrukh Khan's Red Chilles Entertainment representatives made a survey of Eden Gardens and the 'King Khan' of Bolywood had a tele-talk with the 'Prince of Kolkata'.
Shahrukh seems to have given Ganguly a free hand in making the team and designated him as the captain, though a formal announcement is expected on Feb 19. It is perhaps why Sourav will meet him in Mumbai a day before.
''I am really excited about the IPL. I've played Twenty20 ties during the county stint. I am looking forward to the new challenge."
Meanwhile, the name of the Kolkata team is being decided and its jersey designed. It seems the team will have its own theme song that will be sung by Kolkata's very own Usha Uthup.
