Dhaka: Bangladesh's cricket selectors on Tuesday dropped out-of-form spinner Enamul Haque from a 14-member squad for the two-Test home series against South Africa.
The left-arm spinner, who played in last month's Test series in New Zealand, was ignored after his performance in the ongoing three-day match against South Africa failed to impress the selectors.
"He claimed three wickets in the match, but only one of his spells looked good. He still needs to work hard," chief selector Rafiqul Alam said.
Haque has claimed 32 wickets in 12 Tests.
Left-arm seamer Syed Rasel and middle-order batsman Farhad Reza were also left out from a 17-man squad announced earlier this month. Rasel was unfit, while Reza lost his place to Aftab Ahmed.
The opening Test starts in Mirpur on Friday.
