Gautam Gambhir and Shikar Dhawan stroked half-centuries each as the Dare devils romped home with nine wickets in hand and 29 balls to spare.
The left-handers shared an unbeaten 112-run stand for the second wicket. Gambhir's 46-ball 58 was inclusive of seven hits to fence and one over it while his fellow Delhi Ranji Trophy player Dhawan hit eight boundaries for his 52.
Earlier Delhi bowling attack spearheaded by McGrath did exceptionally well to limit Rajasthan Royals sans Smith and Sarwan for a paltry 129/9. Royals batters cut a sorry figure against a team with a formidable bowling line-up.
But for the young Ravindra Jadeja (29 off 23) none of the Royals' batters showed either perservence or application on a good batting wicket. No 9 batsman Salunkhe was the other major contributor with 20-ball 24*.
Maharoof was the pick of Delhi bowlers with 2 for 11 in his four overs. Bhatia returned with 2 for 17. Overseas bowlers McGrath and Vettori claimed one wicket each.
