Pakistan win toss and bat in Twenty20 international

KARACHI :
Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik won the toss and decided to bat in the inaugural Twenty20 international against Bangladesh at National Stadium here on Sunday.

Pakistan, who blanked the tourists 5-0 in the one-day series, dropped Mohammad Yousuf, Naumanullah and Mohammad Asif for their first ever home Twenty20 match.

They were replaced by all-rounders Fawad Alam, Mansoor Amjad and Sohail Tanveer. Bangladesh brought in Nazim Uddin in place of Junaid Siddique.

Pakistan: Shoaib Malik (captain), Salman Butt, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul Haq, Shahid Afridi, Fawad Alam, Mansoor Amjad, Kamran Akmal, Sohail Tanveer, Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz

Bangladesh: Mohammad Ashraful (captain), Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal, Aftab Ahmed, Shakib Al Hasan, Nazim Uddin, Dhiman Ghosh, Abdur Razzak, Mahmudullah Riad, Farhad Reza, Shahadat Hossain.
