Hyderabad: Delhi Daredevils' skipper Virender Sehwag slammed a flamboyant 94* to hand Deccan Chargers a humiliating nine-wicket defeat in their Indian Premier League match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here tonight.

Sehwag scored 94 off just 41 deliveries as his 112-run partnership with Shikhar Dhawan (25*) took his side to a thumping win in just thirteen overs. Delhi now have two wins from two matches while Hyderabad side is yet to score a win.

His superb knock, which included six sixers, also won him the award for maximum number of sixers scored in the tournament and also the Man of the Match Award.

Delhi Daredevil's opener Gautham Gambhir made a wild attempt to cut a R P Singh's delivery outside the off stump. Gilchrist made no mistake in accepting the catch. Gambhir's 12 comprised two hits to the boundary.

Earlier electing to bat, Deccan Chargers dished out a poor performance as Delhi Daredevil's Mohammed Asif got an early breakthrough dismissing cheaply Adam Gilchrist(8) and Skipper V V S Laxman(2). Twenty-year-old Sharma, who has been part of the World Cup winning side last year, brought some respectablity to the host's total which was otherwise lacklustre.

Digging lone forrow for Deccan Chargers, he scored magnificent 66 runs which included four sixers and six boundaries.

Bhatia ended the run riot of Sharma when he was held on the ropes by McGrath at deep midwicket Opener Venugopal Rao(14) drove Ferveez Mahroof to the covers to be caught by Dhawan close to the boundry line.

Earlier Bhatia in his very first ball unsettled Shahid Afridi(2) when the latter tried to scoop it to the fine leg.

Ferveez Mahroof took the prized wicket of Andrew Symonds(12) as wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik dived to his right to pick up a good catch.

After pushing to covers, Bhatia(8) set off but Sharma did not respond. Karthik collected the throw from Tiwary to take off the bails.

A S Yadav(12) mistimed the Mahesh delivery to be caught in the covers by Gautam Gambhir.
