Bangalore: Harbhajan would be highly regretting the moment his blood surged through his right hand's veins to hand Sreesanth a tight slap as the foolish act costed him 2.76 crores. In the history of cricket, this is for the first time a player loses this much huge money as penalty.

Bhajji was hired by Mumbai franchise owner Reliance group for USD 8.5 lakhs (3.5 Cr approx). As many of the players were available only for part of the IPL series due to national commitments, as per the IPL rules, the entire amount for which a player was bought was devided in to 14 equal shares and a player will receive one part for playing one match. Apart from this, a player will receive a small allowance as well.

Harbhajan was eligible to receive Rs 25 lakhs for each match. As he is loses 11 matches, the slap he gave to Sreesanth costs him 2.76 crores.
