Mohali: Speedster Ishant Sharma has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee after he was found guilty of abusing ground equipment during a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab here.

In the brief history of the IPL, Ishant was the fourth player after Harbhajan Singh, Sourav Ganguly and Shane Warne, who have already been penalised in the tournament so far.

''Ishant kicked down the stumps. Clive Lloyd, the match referee hauled him under Level 1.2 offence as mentioned in ICC's Code of Conduct,'' a statement issued by the DLF IPL said.

The IPL is being played as per the ICC Playing Conditions and Rules and is set to follow the guidelines in letter and in spirit.
