Delhi: Virender Sehwag could barely show his happiness even after his side broke its four-match losing streak and the reason was that the Delhi Daredevils' captain could not believe that he was stoned at his home ground Firoz Shah Kotla Stadium.

An upset Sehwag expressed his displeasure over the crowd's behaviour when a stone was hurled from outside the ground because of which the match between Delhi Daredevils and Deccan Chargers was halted for 10 minutes on Thursday night.

''I cannot believe that an Indian player was pelted in his home ground. It is a shameful act on their part (crowd),'' Sehwag said in the post-match conference after his side beat Deccan Chargers by 12 runs.

''I never expected that the Delhi crowd will do such a shameful act and that too with their home team (any team for that matter),'' he added.

However, when asked to name the player at the receiving end, pat came the reply, ''Virender Sehwag, I was fielding there at the boundary line.'' The incident which occured in the 19th over of the Deccan Chargers' innings when Sehwag was fielding in the deep and suddenly he was seen running towards the umpire Brian Jerling to report the matter.

But outside the ground nobody had an idea about the incident and speculations started growing with reports of misbehaviour with cheerleaders.
