Delhi: Daredevils' hopes of making it to the semi-finals of the Indian Premier League (IPL) received a setback when their crucial IPL tie against Kolkata Knight Riders was abandoned after unseasonal rain rendered the Kotla ground soggy on Thursday.

Both the teams were awarded a point each.

Daredevils with 13 points from as many games can just hope for a miracle to happen as their chances to make it to the last four round looks very slim. Delhi outfit need to win their last game against Mumbai and also need some help from their compitators-Mumbai and Chennai. One of these teams should lose their final two league ties.

Ganguly-led Kolkata outfit failed to capitalise on the early initiative given by McCullum crashed out of the event with a string of inconsistant performances. They played like men possessed against whipping boys Bangalore and Hyderabad and were simply not good enough to compete against top rung teams.

Jaipur and Mohali have advanced to the last four round while Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai involved in a three-horse race for the other two semis' spots up for grab.

Delhi face Mumbai in must-win home tie on Saturday while Kolkata play their final league tie (dead rubber) against Mohali at Eden Gardens on Sunday.
