Mumbai: IPL commissioner Lalit Modi did a volte-face and said there would not be a second Indian Premier League in 2008.

Earlier, Modi had hinted at a second IPL this year, which later received thumbs up from many people including BCCI president Sharad Pawar.

Modi, who was delivering his speach at a packed DY Patil stadium yesterday, said PL had caught the imagination of millions of people, both at the venues and on television. He said the indian Board is looking forward to the tournament next year.
