Dhaka: Ahead of their first match of the tri-series against arch-rivals Pakistan, a confident Indian coach Gary Kirsten said his wards are keen to get their hands on the 50-over format after a long 44-day IPL tournament and asserted that the transition would be smooth for the team.

Talking to mediapersons, Kirsten said, ''It is something we have given some considerations and thoughts too. We need to make sure that our gameplan and strategies are designed for 50 overs cricket.

It is different to what they did in IPL. So, we worked hard during the last two days to get things right.'' Indian players have had a busy year so far and have just finished with their IPL assignments and were hardly given any break before the triangular series which will be followed by Asia Cup in Pakistan.

Kirsten, however, admitted that though the players are playing a lot of cricket at the moment, he also chipped in saying that this will give younger players a good opportunity to prove their mettle pointing India's Asia Cup team for the justification.

''It is important in our long-term plan that we have a group of 15 to 20 players equally good enough to play for India, because we have got to give enough rest to the players. I have been thinking very carefully about how we do that,'' he said.
