Karachi: Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik, who finally struck form in the ongoing Asia Cup, could miss-out on today's crucial encounter against arch rivals India due to dehyderation.

Pakistan coach Geoff Lawson informed that the captain is not well since his side's last match against Sri Lanka and did not even participate in the team's net session yesterday.

''He is certainly not well and his hotel room has been transformed to hospital room. When he came off the field against Sri Lanka he was very ill. It is not something to joke about, athletes have died of dehyderation so we can't take a risk with his health,'' Lawson said yesterday.

''Only the doctors will decide whether he can play against India or not. That is for them to decide,'' he stated.

All-rounder Shahid Afridi, who has not been amongst runs off late, may not make it to the playing XI tomorrow and with captain out as well, the team could be at a loss of ideas in a crunch game against India.

''We are going to make changes in the team because it is a must win situation for us against India. Shahid Afridi, whose batting has not worked, and pacer Wahab Riaz will probably be dropped to accommodate opener Nasir Jamshed and pacer, Abdul Rauf,'' a PCB selector said.
