Addressing a press conference at the Boost Inter-School Cricket for Boys Under-16 at the PCA Stadium here today, BCCI joint secretary M P Pandove said School Games Federation of India had approached the Indian cricket board for financial grant.
However, the BCCI members felt that Board should organise the inter-school tournament for U-16 from this year, he added.
Meanwhile, impressed with the excellent infrastructure at the PCA Stadium, Australian provincial side Tasmania has expressed willingness to invite/send teams under mutual exchange programme.
Pandove, who is also secretary of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) said: "we are also exploring possibilities of signing up on Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Victoria or New South Wales for mutual exchange programme. These teams can be invited from Australia to play/train in Punjab or teams from here could be sent to Australia on reciprocal basis," he added.
