King City (Ontario): Abdul Samad-inspired Canada recorded a convincing 77-run victory over Bermuda in the third and final ODI at the Maple Leaf North-West Ground here on Tuesday.

Samad made 125-ball 130 and shared a massive 217-run partnership with Ashish Bagai (84 in 122) as Canada amassed an imposing 276/9 in 50 overs.

Bermuda, who wrapped the three-match series 2-0, chasing a mammoth target got off to a disasterous start losing the first three wickets cheaply before  Steven Outerbridge (56) and Irving Romaine (60) steadied Bermuden innings with a 90-run stand. But the escalating run-rate proved too big an ask for the Bermudan lower order as the Carib Island eventually managed 199/7.

Eion Katchay was the pick of the Canada bowlers, returning figures of 3/39 from his 10 overs while his new-ball partner Thuraisingam claimed 2/33.

Brief Scores:

Canada 276/9 in 50 overs (Abdul Samad 130, Ashish Bagai 84; Tucker 4/56, Trott 2/39, Hodsoll 2/48) beat Bermuda 199/7 in 50 (Romaine 60, Outerbridge 56, Edness 20 n o; Katchay 3/39, Thuraisingam 2/33, Qaiser Ali 1/27).
