Chirag, a computer company who have Ganguly as their brand ambassador and has fielded a team - Chirag United in the eight-team domestic Kolkata premier league, is planning to field the former India captain after his return from the Island nation.
Dada had played in forward line for his school and was quite impressive whenever he played in competitive football be it at school level or in exhibitions games.
Reports in the local media for the past two days have quoted Chirag boss Kaustab Roy as saying Ganguly would don Chirag United's shirt, may be in the Kolkata football league or in the I-League, the country's top club football league beginning in September.
Mohun Bagan and East Bengal, among others, are playing in the Kolkata Premier League (KPL) that concludes at end-August.
Roy said Ganguly, before playing for the side, will have to sign papers to formalise norms under All India Football Federation (AIFF), India's supreme football body.
Roy said Sourav, a household name in Bengal, would create massive support in promotion of football.
