Dhaka: A four-nation Twenty20 International tournament scheduled to be played in Canada next month has been postponed until October, sources in the Bangla Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed on Tuesday.

Bangladesh were due to participate in the tournament along with the West Indies, Pakistan and hosts Canada.

The proposed event scheduled to be held in Toronto from Aug 14-17 was post-poned for want of proper playing facilities, chief organiser Hasan Jalil said.

"The biggest problem is the ground, Toronto does not have a proper stadium... It's a flat ground and we had to erect a lot of facilities there. So when West Indies inspected the ground they were not satisfied."

"They had set some conditions... Because of these conditions it is a very risky affair now as just two weeks are left and there is no MOU signed with West Indies so we are in a limbo right now," Jalil added.

Pakistan-based event management company Sports International Marketing (SIM) had planned to host the tournament in Toronto from Aug. 14-17.
