Openers shine as India post 151/0 at lunch

Galle: Indian openers have put on a partnership of over 150 runs for the first wicket in the second Test at Galle

Sehwag (91) took on the Lankan attack aggressively. In the process he also reached to his maiden half-century against Lankans. This was his 14th fifty of his Test career. He reached the 50-run mark with the help of eight 4s and one 6.

His partner Gambhir too scored a half-century with the help of seven fours. Earlier, Anil Kumble won the toss and elected to bat first. Both captains have fielded unchanged teams.

Sri Lanka are leading the three-match Test series 1-0. In their first Test match at Colombo, Sri Lanka had bundled India within four days to record a win by an innings and 239 runs. Lankan spin duo Muralitharan and Mendis were instrumental in scripting India's debacle.
