London: South Africa"s fast bowler Dale Steyn will not be able to play the fourth and final Test against England as he has failed to recover completely from a broken thumb, which will be in a plaster for another week.

The visitors have already sealed the four-Test series with a 2-0 lead after the first game at Lord"s ended in a draw.

It was during the second Test at Headingley that Steyn sustained the injury damaging the base of his left thumb while fielding. He also had to miss the third Test at Edgbaston which was a crucial decider. His fellow strike bowler Andre Nel was called in then who took three wickets in England"s first innings.

However, Steyn is expected to be fit till the start of the five-match ODI series which begins two days after a Twenty20 game on August 20. The fourth Test is scheduled to start from August 7, Thursday at the Oval.

The 24-year-old has taken eight wickets from the first two games with an average of 36.25.
