India elect to bat in third Sri Lanka one-dayer

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni elected to bat after winning the toss against Sri Lanka in the third one-day international here on Sunday.

The five-match series is tied at 1-1, with Sri Lanka winning the opening one-dayer by eight wickets and India posting a three-wicket victory in the second game in Dambulla.

India made one change from the side that played the previous match, bringing in fit-again opener Gautam Gambhir in place of all-rounder Irfan Pathan.

The hosts replaced fast bowler Dilhara Fernando with Chaminda Vaas.

India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt), Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Subramaniam Badrinath, Praveen Kumar, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel.

Sri Lanka: Mahela Jayawardene (capt), Kumar Sangakkara, Sanath Jayasuriya, Chamara Silva, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Chamara Kapugedara, Chaminda Vaas, Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis, Thilan Thushara, Nuwan Kulasekara.

Umpires: Billy Doctrove (WIS) and Tyron Wijewardene (SRI)
