Security fears cause Champions Trophy postponement

Newport, Aug 25, 2008: The International Cricket Council or ICC on Sunday postponed next month's Champions Trophy in Pakistan for 13 months. Five of the eight nations were due to take part confirmed that they would not send a team because of security concerns. England, Australia and West Indies said that they would join South Africa who pulled out on Friday. Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka were the other teams scheduled to take part in the competition scheduled from Sept. 12-28.
