Shaun Tait, who was dumped from national side after a string of poor show, gets a chance to stake Test claimsSydney: Cricket Australia selectors today included four players - Cameron White, Brett Geeves, Shaun Tait and Xavier Doherty -  as replacements in the Australia-A squad for India tour.

The said players will replace skipper Katich, McGain, Krejza and Casson who will fly home following the conclusion of the second three-day match in Hyderabad on Sept 11.

"Simon Katich is returning home after the two three-day games. His involvement in Indian conditions was seen as the ideal preparation for him after what has been a reasonable break. Simon is hoping to use these games to push his case for selection in the Indian Test series to take place in October," CA chief selector Andrew Hilditch said.

"Cameron White will take over from Simon as captain of the side and we are certain with his experience at interstate level for Victoria, he will do a fine job."

"The initial 14-man squad included three spinners to gain experience and provides the selectors with the opportunity to see how they perform under Indian conditions before a side is selected for the upcoming Australian tour."

"It is very exciting that Shaun Tait is resuming his international career after a break from the game. He has been training extremely well at the recent player camp in Brisbane and is fully aware of the opportunity this one-day tour provides."

The 14-man Australian squad for the three-day matches against India, left Brisbane on Thursday night for Bangalore.
