''This selection was complicated by the Australia A team being in India. In normal circumstances, the additional player added to the Australia squad would come from those selected for Australia A,'' CA National Selection Panel (NSP) Chairman Andrew Hilditch said.
However, with only two one-day internationals remaining in Darwin and 12 fit players, it is unlikely that any replacement player would play in either of the matches.
''If time permits, the NSP will still look to bring a player back from India in the event of injury or injuries to the squad in Darwin. Moises will only play in exceptional circumstances,'' he added.
Henriques captained the AIS team on its tour to Darwin for matches against Bangladesh and the Australian team. He will join the team today.
''Given the importance of the Australia A tour of India, where players will have an opportunity to press for Test selection in the upcoming series, it was decided that a young emerging player should be added to the national team to gain experience."
''The NSP thought it was an ideal opportunity to reward Moises for an outstanding stint at the Cricket Australia Centre of Excellence and Emerging Players Tournament,'' the NSP chairman said.
