Greg ChappellMelbourne: Former Indian coach Greg Chappell is ready to provide some inside tips on India to Australian team members, who are touring India next month.

Australia will travel to India on September 21, a week earlier than originally planned after the postponement of Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Their preparation will begin at Chappell's academy in Jaipur.

Chappell's experience as a recent India coach and director of the Rajasthan Cricket Academy is now readily available to Australian coach Tim Nielsen and captain Ricky Ponting. The former Australian captain will share is experience to a relatively inexperiend Australia team.

"My experience there (India) obviously will help planning for the sort of conditions and the type of cricket they should plan to play," Chappell said.

"In the end, Tim and Ricky and others will decide but I can certainly give them some input." he added.

Despite Chappell now helping Australia to retain one of cricket's most sought after trophies, he believes his history with Australia and recent involvement in India will help to further cement ties between the game's superpower.

Chappell had a tumultuous rein as coach of the Indian team which finally ended after the team's worst ever performance in 2007 World Cup in West Indies.

According to Chappel success of the IPL won't affect Test cricket in any way, he believes Test cricket will remain the ultimate form of the game for players.
