Christchurch: Alan Isaac replaces Sir John Anderson as the chairman of New Zealand Cricket. Isaac has been acting chairman since John Anderson's retirement.

Justin Vaughan, chief executive officer for New Zealand Cricket, said: "Sir John has left big shoes to fill but we are sure that Alan will be an excellent new chairman."

He added: "Cricket is witnessing explosive growth, with new competitions backed by burgeoning media interest. It really is an exciting time for the sport."

Isaac said: "You only have to look at Twenty20 and see its evolution in the last two years to understand the changes that are happening in the game."
