Queensland thrash Knight Riders

Melbourne: Kolkata Knight riders poor run in Australia continues as Queensland defeated the Kolkata team by 48-run in the penultimate match of the six match series. With this victory Queensland have taken an unassailable 4-1 lead in the series with just one match to go.

Symonds, who is making a comeback after the controversial 'fishing saga', only made three in the match and later on did not appear in the field and spent the rest of the match batting in the nets.

Symonds, who has been left our of Australia's India tour, scored just 14 runs so far in the four innings of the series.

Batting first the hosts scored 163 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their alloted 20 overs yesterday, before restricting the Kinght Riders to 115 for eight.

Queensland raced to 101 for one in the 10th over before losing six wickets in a hurry for just 23 runs.

Leg-spinner Timil Patel was the pick of the bowlers for Knight Riders, claiming four wickets, including the huge scalp of Symonds.
