India captain Anil Kumble won the toss and elected to bat in the third Test against Australia at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium here on Wednesday.
Kumble, who missed India's victory at Mohali with a shoulder injury, replaced injured off-spinner Harbhajan Singh. Singh picked up a toe injury towards the end of the Test.
Australia, trailing 1-0 in the four-match series after losing the Mohali Test by 320 runs, made one change, bringing back fit-again paceman Stuart Clark in place of Peter Siddle.
The fourth and final Test will be played in Nagpur from Nov 6-10. The opener in Bangalore ended in a draw.
