Bangalore: Dashing opener Virender Sehwag today became the sixth Indian batsman to complete 6000 runs in one-day cricket during the fourth ODI between India and England here today.

Sehwag, who opened the innings with Sachin Tendulkar, after India were put in to bat by England captain Kevin Pietersen, reached the milestone when he made 36.

Sehwag achieved the feat in his 195th match and in 190 innings.

Virender Sehwag scored a strokeful 69 from 57 deliveries to help India to score a formidable total against England in Bangalore.

The Delhi batsman joined the august company of Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Saurav Ganguly, Mohd. Azaruddin and Yuvraj Singh, who have already reached the milestone. Tendulkar stands atop the table scoring 16372, the highest in the world. He, however, could make just 11 today.
