No mercy, England gutted at Cuttack

SehwagCuttack: India thrashed England by 6 wickets in fifth one-day at Cuttack today. Chasing 271 for victory under lights, India ensured that their target was accomplished with 6 wickets and 38 balls in hand. The hosts now lead the series 5-0 in the 7 match series. Virender Sehwag was declared man of the match for his explosive innings.

England who sniffed a chance after two quick dismissals in form of Yuvraj and Sehwag failed to capitalize on it. Dhoni-Raina combine ensured that India do not face any further hiccups as India moved closer to the victory target here at Barabati stadium. Dhoni who made a well compiled fifty was caught leg before wicket at the personal score of 50.


England bowlers failed to make any early in roads as Indian opener stuck to their task while chasing 271 for victory. Sehwag-Tendulkar pair added 136 when Tendulkar was dismissed after scoring yet another ODI fifty. Sehwag who kept the fielders busy at the other end was unstoppable at the other end before missing a Broad delivery at 91. Yuvraj Singh who was in tremendous form throughout the series missed with the bat. The stylish left-hander just managed 6 runs of the 9 balls he faced. Ravi Bopara took a simple caught and bowled chance as Yuvraj took the long walk back to pavilion.

Chasing 271 runs for victory against England, Team India started off the proceedings on a rather cautious note. Sehwag and Tendulkar opened India"s innings. Sehwag in particular was at his dashing best as Tendulkar somehow managed to keep his wicket intact at the other end. India managed to bring up its fifty in 7.5 overs.
