Guwahati: Now threat in different form is looming large over the Guwahati ODI as the groundsmen are rattled with chronic appearance of poisonous snakes from the stands.

This morning groundsmen working inside the Nehru Stadium had to kill a long venomous snake.
'This is a poisonous snake and we had to kill it,'' said groundsman Dilip.

A large number of snakes used to stay below the stand, which was cleared for the game, and snakes had come out.

''We will clear the ground of snakes before the match,'' said the groundsman, but the ACA was not taking any chance and had ordered to mop up the snakes by tomorrow afternoon.
