New Delhi: After days of speculation, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that the English team will be visiting India to play the two-Test series.

ECB Managing Director Hugh Morris and England Players' Association chief Sean Morris, who came to India to assess the security arrangements for the Test series, were satisfied with the situation and have conveyed their approval to the authorities.

During three sessions of discussions with police officials in Chennai, including Tamil Nadu state DGP and Chennai Commissioner of Police, both the officials had been given a detailed account of security arrangements in writing by the Tamil Nadu police.

''Hugh (Morris) has told us that he would talk to the players and the team management presently in Abu Dhabi and give the official communication before monday morning,'' sources in the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association said.
