Chennai Dec 17: India's chairman of selectors Krish Srikkanth, showered praise on Yuvraj Singh, saying, only a big-match player like him could have played that innings in Chennai.
"I always believed that Yuvraj is a match-winner. In the past too, he has always played well in pressure situations. This is not something new. He is such a player that if he can get his eye in, he can destroy any attack, just like Virender Sehwag," Srikkanth said.
"Imagine the strength of Indian cricket with others like Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni."
After a first innings failure, Yuvraj played a crucial innings of 85 not out in the fourth innings, forging an unbeaten 163-run partnership with Sachin Tendulkar, consequently guiding India to a fourth-innings target of 387.
"He has a long way to go but Im sure he will produce more Test-winning knocks for his country," he said.
India lead 2 Test series 1-0. The second Test is starts in Mohali on Friday.
