Hayden greater than Tendulkar: ICC

New Delhi: Cricket legend Donald Bradman once said Sachin Tendulkar reminded him of himself more than anyone else.

Till today cricket lovers placed Sachin Tendulkar second only to Bradman in list of all-time greats in Cricket. Believe it or not, Sachin isn"t even in the top 20 Test batsmen , according to new ICC "best ever" ratings. The body has released its best ever Test and ODI rankings and Sachin isn't even in the top 20.

Among those ahead of his 26th position are Kumar Sangakkara at joint sixth, Matthew Hayden at joint 10th, even Mike Hussey and Neil Harvey at joint 17th and Kevin Pietersen at the 24th spot among others. It is indeed very interesting to see the ICC believes 12,429 runs, with 41 centuries over a period of 19 years, are not excellent enough. This is despite Sachin Tendulkar holding the record for getting the most runs in Test cricket.

The only Indian in that list is Sunil Gavaskar. In fact, none of the top four Test run-getters -- Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Alan Border and Steve Waugh make the top twenty. Sir Don Bradman at the number one spot. Ricky Ponting tied for the the third spot with Jack Hobbs. Kumar Sangakkara shares the 6th spot with Viv Richards and Garry Sobers, with Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar rounding up the top 20.
