New Delhi: The first player trading in the Indian Premier League (IPL) took place on Saturday when former India bowler Ashish Nehra, who played for the Mumbai Indians in the first edition of the IPL may sign up with the Delhi Daredevils in the second season. Officials from Mumbai Indians and Dare Devils have confirmed that there has been an expression of interest over a swap between Mumbai fast bowler Ashish Nehra and Delhi batsman Shikhar Dhawan.
"The trading took place but there was no exchange of money. The players will get the same amount as salary as they got last year," an official of Mumbai Indians said.
The month-long IPL trading window for players is set to conclude on January 22.
Sources also suggest that Delhi have expressed interest in acquiring Ajit Agarkar and Shantakumaran Sreesanth but their respective owners (Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab) have not reacted yet.
