Hobart: Australia bounced back to level the ODI series beating South Africa by 5 runs in the second one-dayer at Hobart.

With this win the five-match ODI series is squared 1-1

Chasing a low total of 250 for victory, South Africa were coasting well before they ran out of gas to finish on 244 for six off their 50 overs.

Jaques Kallis' superb 72 off 96 balls with five hits to the fence and AB de Villiers 44, before he was run out needlessly, could not save the day for the Proteas.

Earlier half-centuries for Shaun Marsh and Ricky Ponting helped Australia reach a competitive 249 for nine at the Bellerive Oval.
