Jaipur: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty bought 11% stake in Rajasthan Royals IPL team, which had won the inaugural edition of the IPL T20 tournament last year. Shilpa made this announcement in a press conference today.
Shilpa with her friend Raj Kundaran, bought 11% stake in Rajasthan Royals team, which is valued at $15 million or approximately Rs. 75 crore. Shilpa became to the third Bollywood celebrity after Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta to show interest in the much-hyped IPL T20. Shahrukh owns Kolkata Knight Riders, while Preity owns Kings XI Punjab.
"They have bought an approximately 12 per cent stake in the team," Rajasthan Royals owner Manoj Badale said.
After Preity Zinta, Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, Shilpa is the fourth Bollywood name to be associated with the cash-rich event. While Preity owns Kings XI Punjab with beau Ness Wadia, Shah Rukh and Juhi are the owners of Kolkata Kinght Riders.
