Lahore: Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi is planning to retire from Test cricket after the national selectors dropped him from the Test squad for the Sri Lanka Test.
A visibly upset Afridi said that he couldn't impress the selectors and added that he might retire from Tests altogether if the selectors continued to ignore him.
"I was looking forward to earning a place in the Test squad," said Afridi, who has not been in Pakistan's Test picture for almost three years.
"But I respect the selectors' decision," he stressed.
Afridi played the last of his 26 Tests in the summer of 2006 against England in Manchester.
Afridi did feature in the tour game against Sri Lanka earlier this week but his 29-ball 49 was not good enough for the selectors.
