Jaipur: The second season of the IPL will begin at Jaipur with a grand opening ceremony, IPL chariman Lalit Modi has confirmed.
Jaipur team, Rajasthan Royals had won the first round of the IPL tournament held last year. Mr Modi also said that the defending champions Rajastan Royals would play two matches of thier home matches in Ahmedabad.
In the meantime the embattled IPL chief Lalit Modi has filed his papers seeking reelection as the president of Rajasthan Cricket Board. His supporters have filed nominations for all 21 posts in the state cricket board.
After filing the nomination papers in Jaipur Lalit Modi said, “As of now, the gala opening ceremony and the inaugural IPL match will be held in Jaipur". Modi had earlier said the league may shift matches out of Jaipur if it perceives any opposition to the staging of matches there from the state or city administration.
