Napier: While the cricket world is in a shock over the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan team in Lahore, the first ODI between India and New Zealand is underway in Napier.

Indian players are wearing a black arm band in order to show protest against the terror attack on Sri Lankan team.

India's home Minister P Chidambaram on expressed shock over the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Pakistan.

"We condemn the incident. We are sorry for the Sri Lankan team. We hope that the players...I read two three names...Samarveera, Mendis...I hope they are safe and will recover. We are shocked by that incident," he said here.

BCCI also expressed shock Tuesday at the attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore, and highlighted the lack of security in Pakistan that had caused it to cancel a tour by the Indian team.

"What has happened is very shocking indeed," said N. Srinivasan, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
