Islamabad : Sri Lankan government has not ruled out the possibility that Tamil Tigers were in the attack on their cricket team at Lahore.
"We do not rule out," the involvement of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as they steadily lose territory to government forces, said Sri Lankan Foreign MinisterShah Mahmood Qureshi.
"Desperation of LTTE is something we are all looking at."
The Sri Lankan cricket side was in Pakistan in place of the Indian team, which pulled out of a scheduled tour following the Mumbai attacks in November that New Delhi blamed on Pakistan-based militants.
Meanwhile LTTE has denied any link to the attacks on Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore, saying the Tamil Tigers have no connections with those terrorists.
"We don't have any connections with those people (Lahore attackers)," LTTE's spokesman Thileepan told the Radio division of Australia's Special Broadcasting Service last night.
