New Delhi: IPL boss Lalit Modi had threatened to shif the IPL matches out of the country if the government did not allow to hold the event as per schedule.
Mr Modi has written to the franchises saying that the IPL matches will go ahead as per schedule.
Modi would address a media conference after a crucial meeting with the IPL board later on Friday.
The Indian Government has demanded rescheduling of the IPL as the dates clash with the general elections. Various state governments, too, have refused to provide security for the event, even after the IPL board submitted a revised schedule.
Sources from the Government say that the final decision on the IPL's security will be taken next week. But so far the response on security from state police has not been positive.
