Mumbai: IPL has decided to take full responsibility of the players security during the second edition of the tournament which is scheduled to be held in the month of April and May. IPL chairman Lalit Modi has also revealed that security budget of the tournament has gone u by 10 times.
Ahmedabad and Visakhapatnam have been confirmed as venues for the second edition of the tournament.
The final IPL dates, however, are still being fine tuned, Modi said .
He added that there was also the likelihood of adding Dharamshala and Nagpur as other venues.
The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the D Y Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai, but the Mumbai Indians are expected to play all their seven home games at the Cricket Club of India. Fire dancers will perform in opening ceremony which will be 30 minutes long, the IPL chief said.
