Andhra police says no to IPL during elections

No IPL during elections: AP police

New Delhii: Citing security issues due to general elections, Andhra Pradesh police said that they will not be in a position to provide security for the matches during elections in the state.

The Andhra Pradesh Police has written to the Ministry of Home Affairs and said that matches can only be held in the state after the polling phase is over.

The polls in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled between April 15th-23rd, and the State Government wants the matches to post-poned to May, or atleast till after April 23rd.

Andhra Pradesh is the home of the Deccan Chargers and has been allotted 8 matches, 7 in Hyderabad and 1 in Vizag.
