McCullum may lead Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata: New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum may replace Sourav Ganguly as Kolkata Knight Riders captain, report says. This report comes a day after the KKR director of Cricket operations John Buchanan"s comments on the leadership issues. “We are deciding on the leadership issues," Buchanan said on the sidelines of a press conference on Monday.

The grapevine has it that the Aussie might select McCullum as the new captain. The KKR management, however, was tight-lipped on the issue. McCullum, who played only four matches for KKR last year before leaving for national duty, will be available for the entire IPL season this time.

Meanwhile, Buchanan said that he and his team would miss the Kolkata crowds during this year"s event. “We will lose the home advantage, Kolkata crowds are very passionate and get involved with team"s performance," he said.
