Kolkata: Kolkata Knight riders on Tuesday dismissed speculation about Sourav Ganguly's place in the team saying that former Indian captian was a certainty as a player.
KKR Chief Executive Officer Joy Bhattacharya assured that Ganguly will play in the second season of the IPL, which is now scheduled to be held in South Africa
Earlier, media reports had said that KKRs director of cricket operations John Buchanan was not keen on including Ganguly in the team for the coming IPL season in South Africa, as he was unhappy with the ex Indian captains fitness.
Meanwhile, two days after Buchanan raised doubts about Gangulys captaincy of the side, the left hander held a meeting with the former Aussie coach though there was not much indication over the ice melting between the two.
Buchanan had created a flutter Sunday with his remarks that the KKR was yet to decide on the leadership issue.
Later, Buchanan had expressed himself in favour of a rotating captaincy in a match.
