New Delhi: Bollywood star and Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan today extended support to Ganguly by saying that he is KKR"s main man.
Backing Ganguly as the leader of the team, Shah Rukh said that “Ganguly is still our main man" and stressed that “no one was taking the captaincy away from Ganguly."
John Buchanan had said that Ganguli will share captaincy with three other captains for the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament that is set to be played in South Africa.
Many analysts have claimed that the rotational captaincy is the first step to unseat Sourav Ganguly from the captaincy of Kolkata Knight Riders. Sourav is not part of Indian cricket team and is certainly not in good form.
Vijay Mallya of Bangalore"s IPL team has also removed another icon player Rahul Dravid as his team"s captain.
Shah Rukh Khan owned Kolkata Knight Riders yesterday introduced captaincy rotation in the IPL team. This year"s Indian Premier League will not be played in India but in South Africa due to security reasons. Captaincy rotation is another new thing that has happened to cricket.
KKR"s Director of Operations John Buchanan and its icon player Sourav Ganguly announced on Tuesday that the team would not have a “fixed captain" for the second edition of the event, due to be played in South Africa next month.
