Napier: As India struggle to save the second Test against New Zealand in Napier, former New Zelanand captain Martin Crowe has severely criticised Sehwag's captaincy.
Accordint to Crow itwas Virender Sehwag's captaincy that among other things led to India's desperate situation in Napier. Adding further former master batsman stated that visitor"s performance in this test, had rarely touched the standard one should expect from the world number one team.
While adding further, he stated that the regular captain of the Indian squad, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was missed in the second Test. India, it should be noted, is fighting to save the test match that they trail by 267 runs after following on. Crowe reportedly stated that the effort on the Indian team"s part was pretty sloppy.
He said that there was a feeing of resignation as he thought that the Indian side looked for drawing the match. The situation did not assist India much as Crowe pointed out that the players took their eye off the ball. Further, the shot selection by Indian players, as well, was a poor show as stated by Crowe.
