Delhi triumphant in rain truncated match

Cape Town: Daniel Vettori helped Delhi Daredevils defeat Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets (D/L) in the rain curtailed third IPL match at the Newlands.

In a match that saw numerous rain interruptions, Delhi Daredevils were given a revised target off 54 runs from 6 overs, which they duly overhauled in just 4.5 overs without losing any wickets.

Gautam Gambhir made 16 from 13 balls (2 fours), while Sehwag was at his usual belligerent best, scoring 38 runs off 16 balls (4 fours and 3 sixes).

However, It was the spell from Vettori that turned the tide in Delhi Dare Devil's favour.

Goel gave Punjab Kings X1 an excellent start, however the following batsmen could not capitalize on the good start, as they struggled to get it going. Delhi managed to restrict the opposition down to a reachable score.
Maximum Sixes Award went to K Goel and Virendra Sehwag.

Daniel Vettori was adjudicated as the man of the match.
