Abu Dhabi : Australia took a 2-1 lead over Pakistan in the ODI series as they defeated Pakistaby 27 runs at Abu Dhabi stadium here on Monday.
It was the all around performance by Clarke who lifted Australia from the jaws of defeat against Pakistan on Monday.
Clarke anchored struggling Australian innings which helped them to reach 198-7 in their alloted 50 overs before claiming 3-15 to bowl pakistan out for 171 in 47.1 overs.
Pakistan were coasting at 95-0 but lost five for 28 as Nathan Hauritz struck twice in two balls and Clarke (3-15) snared two wickets in his opening over.
Pakistan won the first match by four wickets, while Australia clinched the second by six wickets -- both played in Dubai last week.
The remaining two matches will be played here on May 1 and 3. The only Twenty20 match is scheduled for Dubai on May 7.
