Centurion: Delhi bowlers restricted Deccan Chargers to 148 in the twenty overs at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Dwayne Smith was the top scorer in the the innings with 48 runs.
Delhi were off to a worst possible start as they lost their captain Adam Gilchrist and Gibbs in quick succession. Both of them were dismissed by Nannes.
Rohit Sharma and Azhar Bilakhia tried to resurrect the innings added 33 runs for the third wicket before Rohit (17) hit a straighter delivery by Amit Mishra over the covers for Mithun Manhas to take the catch. In the very next over Bikhia (22) was dismissed by Daniel Vettori.
Deccan lost their top four inside the first ten overs and just when one assumed that the strategic time-out will help the bowlers again, we were all left mistaken. Smith and Suman started off a carnage stacking up a quickfire 50 partnership in just 25 balls. Delhi found back it's rhythm when their pacers swung them back into the contest.
Dyan Smith hit 48 runs from 28 balls that included five boundaries and two sixes.
