Centurion: Tillakaratne Dilshan struck a brilliant half century that guided Delhi Daredevils to six wicket victory against Hyderabad Deccan Chargers at Centurion on Thursday. Dilshan hit 52 runs from 46 balls that included 3 sixes and 4 fours. Delhi achieved the 149-run victory target with 8 deliveries to spare.
The famed Delhi openers Sehwag and Gambhir couldn't fire even today as they were dismissed for 20 and 17 respectively. Delhi Daredevils struggling at one stage at 49/3, But a 79-run partnership between Dilshan and Dinesh Karthik for the fourth wicket ensured their victory.
Karthik scored 41(30) that included a six and three boundaries. He was trapped plumb in front of the wicket by Pragyan Ojha.
Earlier Delhi bowlers restricted Deccan Chargers to moderate total 148 in the twenty overs. Dwayne Smith was the top scorer in the innings with 48 runs. His innings was studded with 2 sixes and 5 fours.
Deccan Chargers lost their top four inside the first ten overs. But strategy breaks was a blessing for Challengers as Smith and Suman started off a carnage stacking up a quickfire 50 partnership in just 25 balls. Suman, who replaced former captain VVS Laxman, played well to hit a 23-run knock that came off 14 balls with the help of a six and a four.

Delhi found back it's rhythm when their pacers swung them back into the contest. Dirk Nannes who took two wickets for 16 runs was declared man of the match. It was Nannes who dismissed Hyderabad's explosive batsmen Gilchrist and Gibbs.
